Why Do Kids Hate Glasses?

When it comes to children wearing glasses there are some real shockers out there, trust me. Many of them do not understand why they are being picked on and so many of them also want to not use their glasses anymore simply because they are  being bullied, but why is this?

It would be wrong of me to say that every single glasses wearer is smart as this is not true but the smart ones are the ones bullies often target. This seems to be on the whole. Many children feel threatened by the clever students which is of course why they attempt to bully them in the first place. However many of the geeky children do not have the confidence they need to stop bulling from occurring.

• 20% if children have seen classmates actually skip one or more day of school because of bullying they received when it came to glasses.
• 1/4 of all children are upset about their glasses because they have to wear them to school
• Just over half of all children do not wear the glasses when they are meant to
• 50% of children that wear glasses are called names.

Some of these figures are crazy, they make you realise how big the problem is. If your child is being bullied because of their glasses you should first ask them to tell the bullies to stop it. If this isnt working the next step is to ask your child to stand up for themselves. useing the fact that bullies are often not clever is a great idea. Failing all of this just go into the school and make a note of speaking to the head about it as this will get results.

So when you think glasses don’t always think cool police glasses and aviator glasses, think about the normal people that wear cheap glasses.
