We all well know that is it not easy to go for a LASIK procedure, mainly when  person who is considering a Lasik procedure to improve their vision has two major responsibilities: selecting the best surgeon possible for your budget, and understanding and look after the Lasik operation is done. Most Lasik procedures go very well, and over 90% of patients are satisfied with the improvement of their vision and have no permanent side effects. Part of this success is due to good care at home once the Lasik procedure is complete.

The first step to take the best care after a Lasik procedure is to understand exactly what is directed by the Lasik doctor. Potential Lasik patient should have a good understanding of the whole process when they first visit a Lasik center to interview the doctor and staff. On the day of the procedure, a member of staff must be very careful about what steps should be taken to improve eye health and healing after the Lasik operation.

One thing that the patient must ask what the side effects can be expected immediately after the Lasik procedure, how long it should last, and the symptoms should be promptly told the Lasik doctor or staff member. A series of symptoms such as fluctuating vision or halos around lights, are expected and are not a cause for concern. Ask the staff about postoperative symptoms that are not clear, to ensure they are well understood.

Lasik physician has their own recommended procedures for their patients, but here is a list of tips that most centers recommend traditional Lasik. First, get some sleep as soon as possible after the Lasik procedure is done. This gives a major boost to the healing process. Second, avoid contact, hitting, rubbing their eyes or at least five days after the Lasik procedure. Most Lasik centers have some type of eye guards to wear at night to avoid rubbing their eyes in sleep patients.

Thirdly, try to avoid eye strain for a few days after the Lasik procedure. It is tempting to try to read all the signs and words that were previously deleted, but to avoid this temptation, at least for the majority. If any glare or light sensitivity is noticed, wear dark sunglasses for several days until the problem resolves itself. Some side effects are temporary Lasik halos around lights, especially in light of the night, but this is not a problem to be addressed.

It is very important to keep the eyes lubricated at the time, after a Lasik operation. Each doctor Lasik eye drops to help this, and all patients should be aware of this before going to bed. A Lasik procedure can temporarily increase the dry eye during sleep and can make the eyelids stick slightly to the hearing. When the patient wakes up, the opening of the eyelid is the equivalent of rubbing your eyes. The physician should be informed if this occurs because there are other varieties of eye drops that will solve this problem.

Given these simple measures are nearly all Lasik patients experience easy with postoperative problems.
